Recommended Books For SSC

SSC is an Acronym For Staff Selection Commission. Every Year SSC conducts various exams for recruitment in various government sectors of India. SSC exam is now a days one among the trending exams in india, every 2nd student is preparing for this exam. Every Year apporx. 17 lakh students take SSC CGL(Combined Graduate Level) Exam and nearly 5 Lakh Students take CHSL(Combined Higher Secondary Level) Exam. So it becomes necessary for us to Understand the SSC in depth.

SSC CGL:

SSC CGL is conducted in month of August every year by SSC. Registration For SSC CGL is done in month of April. SSC CGL offers various jobs ranging from INCOME TAX INSPECTOR, EXCISE INSPECTOR, EXAMINER, PREVENTIVE OFFICER and various other reputed jobs in Government sector. CGL is conducted in 2 Tiers Tier1 and Tier2 Exam. Minimum Qualification for CGL is Graduate in any field from recognised University.

EXAM PATTERN

Tier 1: In tier 1 exam 4 section are there Quantitative Aptitude, General English, Logical Reasoning, General Awareness. Each section is worth of 50 marks so in total tier 1 exam total marks are 200. Cut off marks for appearing in tier 2 generally ranges from 95-105 for general category.

Tier 2: In tier  2 exam it consists of 2 exams one of 200 marks for quantitative aptitude and other of equal weight-age of 200 marks English section.

So in overall SSC CGL EXAM is of 600 marks out of which 450 marks are considered as good marks. There are 2 Types of posts in CGL  Interview posts and Non-Interview posts. For interview posts merit generally goes up to 427 and for non-interview posts merit goes up to 400 marks.

SSC CHSL:

CHSL is conducted in the month of November every Year. Job profile for this exam are LDC(lower divisional Clerk) in various government sectors. Exam Pattern For CHSL is Paper is same as that of tier 1 of SSC CGL with all 4 sections Quantitative Aptitude, English ,General Awareness and Logical reasoning of 200 marks in total . Cut off marks for CHSL are in Range of 120-135. So it becomes important for us to read good books for our prep.In paper 2 We will have to appear in a Descriptive writing test. Minimum Qualification For CHSL is 12th pass from any recognized board.
